Independent alternative sourcing

Panel built alternatives for factory quote comparison

FrameAxis Sourcing is an independent sourcing service. A panel built search can start a brief, yet this desk is not that brand and does not claim to be an authorized dealer. Buyers use the brief to match factories that can quote a similar modular or portable building.

Bring the occupied use, whether the building is permanent, relocatable or temporary, the floor area, and the room layout. Add the code edition the authority having jurisdiction uses, plus wind speed, ground snow load and seismic design category when those figures already exist. Quantity, destination ZIP code and the requested delivery window belong in the same note so quotations share one basis.

Volumetric modules staged beside a plant yard for quote comparison

Volumetric

Compare finished room modules against the highway transport envelope and the crane lift at the pad.

Panelized

Compare wall, floor and roof panels when the route cannot accept a wide box and site assembly is acceptable.

Foldable

Compare collapsed transport width with the opened footprint, joint lines and the foundation interface.

Steel Systems

Compare primary frame, purlin and girt packages when the need is a clear span rather than a room module.

What to prepare before factories are asked

Supplier matching starts after the brief can be sent unchanged to more than one plant. These six checks stop a unit price from being read as a complete building. A volumetric module can leave more finish at the plant, while panelized construction shifts joints to the pad. Neither path is a default. Project design criteria must come from the buyer and qualified project professionals, not a generic catalog value.

Occupied use

Name the people, shifts and equipment the enclosure must hold, including any hazardous storage.

Module dimensions

Record length, width, eave height and the transport envelope the route can actually accept.

Design loads

List design live load, design dead load, collateral load and any crane or mezzanine reaction.

Jurisdiction

Identify the code edition and the authority that will review drawings. Do not treat a generic badge as approval.

Scope split

Mark shell, delivered, installed or turnkey, and say who owns foundation, stairs and utilities.

Document list

Ask each plant for calculations, weld procedures and the insulation or fire-resistance data for the quoted system.

Inquiry options in this cluster

Cards are buyer choices, not stock and not a compatibility claim. Selecting a card opens the quote request.

Modular & Portable Buildings

Define room layout and finish scope, then check the transport envelope and lifting points before choosing a finished module.

State headcount, intended duration, HVAC duty and electrical connection; site setup remains a separate quotation line.

Ask for an occupancy and accessibility review, classroom acoustics and the school delivery window. A catalog label is not code approval.

Uses that change the brief

In-plant office beside a production line

In-plant offices

Check floor loading, noise, electrical rough-in and whether the unit sits on the slab or on a raised frame.

Pre-assembled guard booth at a gate lane

Gate booths

Check sight lines, HVAC for occupied hours, anchorage and whether the booth ships complete or in panels.

Wall panels staged for an enclosed workspace

Enclosed workspaces

State occupancy, ventilation and thermal transmittance. An enclosed room inside a plant still needs a fire and escape review.

Mezzanine framing above a workshop floor

Mezzanine loads

A floor platform needs its own live load, stair, guard and column reactions. Do not fold it into a wall-panel price.
